How Long Does Meal Prep Last in the Fridge?
Have you ordered meal prep from Urban Crunch and wondered how long you can keep the meals in your refrigerator? Does meal prep go in the fridge or the freezer? The main thing you need to know is that Urban Crunch meals are always provided to you fresh, never frozen.
Meal Prep in the Fridge
When you have your meals delivered, or pick them up from one of our partner gym locations, they should be placed into your fridge at home as soon as possible. The meals are perishable and need to be refrigerated.
Once refrigerated, the meals should be eaten within 3-4 days. If you have ordered meals with fish, you should eat those first, as they will stay fresh on the shorter end of that range.
Meal Prep in the Freezer
If you expect that you will need to keep the meals for longer than 3-4 days, you can freeze them. While most of the fresh meals can be heated in a microwave for 2-4 minutes, depending on the wattage of your microwave, frozen meals will take longer if they are not defrosted first. This is perfectly okay, but be sure to use a food thermometer to check they reach 165°F.
Storing meals in your freezer helps reduce food waste when you’re not able to eat the meals fresh. While meals that have been kept in your freezer may not taste as fresh as refrigerated meals, they are safe to eat.
How Often Should You Order Meal Prep?
We recommend ordering your meals at least twice per week in order to have the freshest food possible for the entire week. For example, you can pick up (or have us deliver) your meals on Sunday and Wednesday.
Your Sunday meals will last you through Tuesday, and your Wednesday meals will last you through Saturday. We also make meals available on Friday if you prefer to get them in shorter intervals to ensure they are as fresh as possible.
Pick-Up Or Delivery
Our meals are available for pick-up or delivery. We have three convenient locations in Los Angeles where you can pick-up your fresh meals: Athletic Society in Canoga Park, Nutrishop in Northridge, and Nomad Gym in Toluca Lake. We also offer delivery within a 25 mile radius from our Canoga Park headquarters.
Delivery and pick-up dates occur every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. Orders are due on Friday at 6om for Sunday, Monday at 6pm for Wednesday, and Wednesday at 6pm for Friday. This means that you’re constantly getting fresh meals. Deliveries are made between 12pm and 3pm Pacific.
